With players playing off 90% handicaps on a tough course and in hot weather, Kev Player put in an outstanding performance to score 36 points and finish 6 clear of the field.

Woodlake Park was looking at it's best for the 25th Anniversary of THE BOAT OPEN on April 27th.

Mal Madurasinghe finished second with a creditable 30 points with Nige Harvey one point back in third place.

Andy Gilmour, after an uncharacteristic poor front nine, pulled it together on the back nine and took the 'Best Back Nine' consolation prize after scoring 17.

Nearest the Pin winners were Kev Rushby (7th) and Kev Player (18th) whilst Dean 'Mark Davies' Tyler hit the longest drive on 12.

Deano also claimed 2 shares of the cash pot for birdie twos on 14 and 16. Lee Evans took the third share with birdie on 10.

A BIG 'THANK YOU' to Mark, Emrys, Ewan & Nicki and all the staff at The Boat Inn for their support, sponsorship and a great buffet on Sunday evening.

RGS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS NEARING CLIMAX!

With only three League Championship events remaining, a lot of players are already eliminated but a few have already laid down minimum targets for every category.

Leo Lucas leads the way but has only recorded two scores this season and has to play all the remaining events and consistently score 35+

Andy Gilmour, in spite of his spectacularly poor start at Woodlake on Sunday, remains clear favourite for the 24/25 League Championship. He can only improve on his current average of 35.40 (with any score above 32 increasing the target that he sets). Kev Player brought himself into contention at Woodlake and is likely to improve his 33.00 average but the Category A title may end up being his best chance still.

Category B is Dan Freeman's to lose as Nige Harvey won't compete in 5 events and Dan (31.60) has a low qualifying score of 23 which he can easily replace. Mickey Pryce (30.75 / 4 played) is the nearest likely challenger.

A similar story in Category C, with leader Allan Fletcher unlikely to play 5 qualifiers along with several other of the Cat C players, you have to go quite a long way down the table to find likely contenders in Dave Knapman (29.00 / 6 played), Rich Hepplewhite & Tom Hunter (28.00).
